Two-time champion Caitlin Bassett who will lead the Australia Netball squad for the netball World Cup in England in July. They will be named 12 players name and on that list no place for the vice captain Gabi Simpson and Midcourt star Kim Ravaillion.
If we look at the Diamond squad then only three players from the 2015 campaign in Bassett, Caitlin Thwaites and Paige Hadley while remaining nine players are new faces so surely say its a new look squad for the world cup for Australia netball side.
NSW Swifts defender Sarah Klau is set to make her international debut.
‘‘It’s been a difficult process due to the depth of talent and experience within our Diamonds squad,’’ Alexander said.
‘However, it’s our job to select the team that will successfully compete on the international stage, with consideration for the back-to-back nature and varying games styles within a tournament.
‘‘Some athletes are very unfortunate to miss out on being selected – they’ve done all the right things and we have had some very tough decisions to make – we really feel for those athletes.
‘‘In saying this, we’re delighted for the athletes who have been selected.’’
Australia netball team who meet in sydney on 24 June for the Training camp of five day and then go for england on 3 July.
