Noeline Taurua head coach of Silver Ferns announced a Strong 12 players list of New Zealand netball team for upcoming world cup 2019. Some of the players who return to squad which are defenders Katrina Rore and Phoenix Karaka, midcourter Shannon Saunders and shooter Bailey Mes for July Netball world cup.
Laura Langman who will be leading the New zealand netball team on a day on just 50 days ahead.
Former captain Rore who have fourth most capped silver fern history and she was dropped in the squad due to bad performance in the commenwealth games.
“We have five athletes who have been on the outer, faced their so called demons and yet have been open to take on feedback, better their skillset and continued to push themselves,” Taurua said.
“I look for players who can do the job in the first instance, connections and playing combinations, and then personal qualities. The players who have been recalled to wear the Silver Fern again demonstrates to me passion for our game, fight, fortitude, tenacity and work ethic. The Silver Ferns needs to be a team that can emulate those same qualities.”
The Silver Ferns play five Games back-to-back and then a rest day which will be followed by one more pool match before teams will be go through to next round of semifinals and final.
